Go out 'round the bay

The Baccalieu Trail is one of Newfoundland's most picturesque areas and consists of about seventy outport communities along a 250 km route. These small coastal communities are some of the oldest European settlements in Canada, many of them having been established by Portuguese, Spanish, Basque, French, and English fishermen and whalers in the 1500s-1800s.

Don't miss:
  • the many historic sites along the winding and narrow streets in Brigus
  • lunch at Madrock Cafe in Bay Roberts and a hike along the Shoreline Heritage Walk; a 4 km walking trail which passes through Juggler's Cove and French's Cove
  • the fishing village Bay de Verde
  • the beaches: Salmon Cove Sands and Northern Bay Sands
  • golfing at Pitcher's Pond golf course
  • being able to say that you visited Cupids, Dildo, Heart's Delight, Heart's Desire, and Heart's Content... all in one day!
