Salmon Cove Sands

A 10 minute drive or a lovely afternoon walk will take you to Salmon Cove Sands. Steep cliffs surround the cove’s 1/2 km beach of fine gray sand where the Salmon Cove River enters the ocean, providing a warmer pool of water for swimmers.

Rising above the beach and skirting the edges of the cliffs is the Trail of the Eagles. This 3-km hiking trail takes you through spectacular views where sea birds and bald eagles nest and whales can be seen feeding on the caplin near the mouth of the cove.
